  • How much does it cost to frame?

    The cost of custom framing depends on quite a few factors.


    First, what is it that you are framing? Is it a painting, a poster, a hockey jersey? All of those items require different materials and techniques.


    What is the size of your project? Most materials are priced by the length.


    The best way to get an estimated price on your art or project is to bring it in to Mister Frame. We are happy to go through the options with you and work out a cost for you to consider.


  • Do I need to put glass on my artwork?

    Artwork on canvas, whether it’s original or printed doesn’t require glass.


    Original paintings on canvas, such as acrylic or oil go through a process over the years called off-gassing that will fog glass and distort the picture.


    Watercolour paintings, photographs, anything on paper and needlework all require glass, as well as anything framed with a mat. Glass will protect your art from discoloring and fading. 


    We offer several options for glazing and are happy to explain the difference and recommend the best glass for your art or project.


  • Do you have experience framing military medals and keepsakes?

    Yes. We frame a lot of military medals, photos, uniforms, etc. This is something we take great pride in and we have many examples of this work in our gallery. We have the ability to print and restore old photos for these projects as well.


    Mister Frame works with an experienced Court Mounter who can mount your medals and even help to find replicas and replacements, if need be.


  • Do you carry plastic frames?

    Although plastic frames can offer an appealing price, the quality and longevity is not so attractive. The frames can easily come apart, break, chip and disintegrate. And they are not easily repaired. Also, the glue used to bond plastic frames is highly toxic, something we don’t want in our workspace.


    Mister Frame offers only high quality wood and metal frames, as these materials will stand the test of time. We have economically priced options in both.


  • Do you sell needlecraft supplies online?

    We are not yet set up for online shopping but we do post most new stock on our Facebook and Instagram pages.

We try to make your shopping experience as easy as possible if you are not able to come in to our St. Albert shop. We are also happy to transfer items to the Edmonton store for pick up and we offer low cost shipping across Canada!
